Investigation on the underlying mechanisms of premature ovarian insufficiency

Date:2018-12-28

Premature ovarian insufficiency (POI) is an ovarian disorder of multifactorial origin that is defined as the occurrence of amenorrhea, hypergonadotropism and hypoestrogenism in women aged younger than 40 years old. Our group systematically study in the theme of aging genes and different expressions of microRNA in the pathogenesis of POI. We have studied integrated Chinese with Western therapy for diminished ovarian reserve (DOR) and poor ovarian response (POR) patients and analyze its role of assisted reproductive technology pregnancy outcomes. In terms of our research, long-term goal is to figure out the general mechanisms of relevant microRNAs and downstream proteins as well as their pathways in POI for providing infertile women with a potential therapeutic strategy.
